Diplomatic/Consular Law and State Immunity

The International Law Section handles matters relating to the application by the Republic of Cyprus, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of Diplomatic and Consular Law, as well as matters of state immunity and immunity of state officials.

It advises in relation to legal questions that arise from the interpretation and application of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963, the Convention on Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations of 1946 and other international agreements, as well as established customary international law on the matter.
